OVERTHINKING
about us
Overthinking was created by me and my friend Grace. I had just come out of BFI film academy, was in the developmental process of my short film A Microdose of Sympathy and was looking to start projects that would develop my personal style as a filmmaker. Grace reflected the same morals within filmmaking as me so when we started a small film project together the level of understanding we had and the way we bounced off of each other creatively was unlike anything I had experienced thus far in film.

I first worked with Alex on A Microdose of Sympathy in which she was the producer and I the director, during the shooting process, we exchanged many conversations about what kind of films we want to create as filmmakers and it was clear she would be a perfect addition to the production company.

With Grace as writer, me as director and Alex as producer, we intended for the film Overthinking to connect audiences with their own emotions and to explore why and how we feel the way we do.

Overthinking came from a place of curiosity. Me and Grace were questioning why we act the way we do and how this effects the people we love the most.
​
This film is an exploration of the filter between our inner and outer selves, especially highlighting the role gender plays in the expression of our vulnerability.
​
After running the film festival circuit in 2022, we received an award from Malhaar film festival for short films and I'm really proud of what we created.
